For a budget-friendly 1080p gaming and daily-use PC, the best budget split I’ve found is roughly 35% for the GPU, 30% for the CPU, 15% for RAM, and 20% for storage. The graphics card remains the main bottleneck in most titles, so a mid-range GPU (like an RTX 3060 or AMD RX 6600) delivers enough power without overpricing the build.
The processor should be strong enough to prevent stuttering but doesn’t need to be high-end. An AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel i5-12400 offers a great balance of cores and threads at a reasonable price, freeing up funds for the GPU.
For memory, 16GB DDR4 at 3200–3600MHz is the sweet spot—enough for modern games and light multitasking. If the budget allows, upgrading to 32GB doesn’t provide a noticeable improvement in most cases.
For storage, I recommend allocating 20% to a 500GB NVMe SSD (or a 250GB SATA SSD if the budget is tight). Load speeds and system responsiveness benefit greatly from an SSD, while additional storage can be added via a 1–2TB HDD for media libraries and less critical files. This balance keeps performance and cost in check without sacrificing key areas.
