Yesterday, I went through an experience with a friend while building a budget-friendly gaming PC, so let me share it with you. At the end of 2022, we were working on a PC assembly project called "Fırtına" with a budget of around 15,000 TL. By that time, graphics card prices were almost insane; especially the prices of newly released models were disappointing for users.
We spent days researching and eventually found a relatively affordable *Radeon RX 6600* to replace our aging graphics card. The model was priced around 8,500 TL, but we managed to get it for 7,200 TL during a discount. As my friend put it, "These prices would have bought a mid-range GPU a few years ago!" We also upgraded to a *Ryzen 5 5600* CPU and 16GB DDR4 RAM, which gave us a serious performance boost. With the new system, we enjoyed a smooth experience in games like *Genshin Impact* (tree cutting), *Forza Horizon 5* (racing), and even *Cyberpunk 2077* in Full HD.
After this experience, I clearly saw that price drops were likely to continue. Especially in the last 2-3 years, chip manufacturers trying to clear excess inventory and offering older series at more attractive prices made the market highly competitive. If improvements in technology licenses and supply chains continue in the future, this trend is likely to persist. If something even more surprising happens, maybe in 5 years we can even build *ray tracing*-supported systems that we dream of within our budget.

Additionally, the reduced reliance on China's supply chain and the relocation of production to different regions due to US-China trade tensions have positively impacted logistics costs.
However, there are a few risk factors that could affect the continuation of this trend. Increased demand for artificial intelligence and data centers may put pressure on the prices of some components, particularly GPUs. Furthermore, US export restrictions on China could disrupt some semiconductor production. While prices for core components like CPUs and GPUs are expected to continue falling, peripheral products such as SSDs and RAM may fluctuate due to stockpiling.
In the short term, prices for entry-level users may stabilize, but the price advantages in the mid-to-high-end segment could diminish. Previous-generation high-end components will continue to offer budget-friendly options, allowing users to gain in price-to-performance ratio.
