Here’s a 500€ budget PC build guide for beginners: --- **Newbie-friendly 500€ PC build guide** Hey everyone! I’m putting together a budget-friendly PC build for around 500€ and wanted to get your thoughts. This is my first time building a PC, so I’d appreciate any advice or corrections. My main goal is gaming (1080p, 60fps+) and some light productivity work. ### **Proposed Build:** | **Component** | **Model** | **Price (€)** | |---------------------|-------------------------------|--------------| | **CPU** | AMD Ryzen 5 5600 (6C/12T) | ~120 | | **Motherboard** | MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI | ~90 | | **RAM** | 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz | ~40 | | **Storage** | 500GB NVMe SSD (e.g., WD SN570)| ~40 | | **GPU** | AMD RX 6600 (8GB) | ~200 | | **PSU** | Corsair CX650 (650W, 80+ Bronze)| ~70 | | **Case** | Deepcool MATREXX 40 | ~50 | | **Total** | | **~610** | ### **Questions:** 1. **Is this build balanced?** I know the GPU takes up most of the budget, but I prioritized it for gaming. 2. **Any compatibility issues?** I double-checked the parts, but I might’ve missed something. 3. **Alternatives?** If you’d suggest a better GPU/CPU combo within budget, let me know! 4. **Cooling?** The Ryzen 5 5600 comes with a stock cooler, but should I upgrade later? 5. **Future upgrades?** Will this setup handle upgrades well in 2-3 years? ### **Thoughts:** - I considered an Intel i3-12100F + RX 6600 combo, but the Ryzen 5 5600 seems better for future upgrades. - The RX 6600 is the best GPU I can afford right now, but I’m open to suggestions. - I’m not sure if 16GB RAM is enough for gaming in 2024. Would love to hear your feedback! Thanks in advance. 😊 ---

I'm saving monthly and want to build a system around €500. I'll prioritize longevity without sacrificing performance, so I'm looking at a 6-8 core CPU and a GPU that supports the last 2-3 generations. For RAM and storage, I plan on DDR4-3000+ and at least a 1TB SSD. I also want to allocate a bit more budget to cooling and the power supply to avoid issues when upgrading later. What’s the most efficient way to build this system?

My brother has a budget similar to yours coming up soon, and I did a lot of research last year when I was building my first PC with a similar budget. It’s definitely possible to put together a system with a 6-8 core CPU and a next-gen GPU for around €500, and that’s pretty much what I ended up doing. At the time, the most sensible approach seemed to be investing in a mid-range CPU and leaving the rest upgrade-friendly—like I started with a Ryzen 5 5600 and later upgraded to a 5800X3D. The only thing that changed was the CPU, which saved a ton of money in the budget. You’re right about storage and RAM too—I went with a 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus and 2x8GB 3200MHz RAM. It’s worth not skimping here because you’ll want to add more RAM and storage later. The PSU and cooling are important too—I invested in a 650W 80+ Gold PSU and a 240mm AIO cooler. You’ve got to think long-term for stability and upgrade potential. In the end, with a setup close to €500, I handled both gaming and office work just fine, and now I can just swap out the GPU or CPU later to refresh the system.
