Just started working on defensive tactics and I'm trying to get the fundamentals down. Really curious about how you guys handle quick recoveries, footwork, and positioning when blocking an opponent. Would love to hear your experiences on this. What drills do you use in training, and what should I focus on when it comes to timing? Bro, if you could drop some tips or advice, that’d be awesome. Also, how do you take advantage of opportunities to steal the ball while defending? What kind of communication methods do you use with teammates to improve coordination? Any general training plan suggestions would be super helpful too.
What defensive tactics should beginners apply, and what should they consider?

After focusing on footwork drills in the first season, I improved my blocking position with the 5-5 "shadow defense" and quick recovery exercises. Keeping my knees slightly bent and stepping sideways to get next to the opponent felt like the most comfortable position while blocking. When approaching the ball to attack, I take a step forward, place my hands wide near the bar, and communicate instantly with my teammates by shouting "Tight hold!" as a signal.
