These rules allow political debate to remain lively without sacrificing respect for other members. From the perspective of a founder who has managed user forums across several startups, I’ve seen that proactive moderation—not just reactive—helps maintain balance. When critical humor is allowed but with a "zero tolerance" policy toward personal attacks and misinformation, the community tends to self-regulate and foster more productive discussions. Ultimately, controversial memes can be useful as long as limits are applied to ensure both freedom of expression and mutual respect.
