Stressful times have shown us all the healing power of humor. But does science actually back up these therapy methods? Laughing releases serotonin, reduces stress hormones, etc. So what happens when humor is subjective? Some people have jokes that kill, while others are just not the laughing type. How do you manage stress with humor? What’s your personal approach?
Is it possible to beat stress with humor?

I'm also one of those who turn to humor when stressed, bro, but I think the effect of humor varies from person to person. It's like music therapy, for example; one person might relax by listening to heavy metal, while another might need Mozart. I'm also one of those with a low laughter threshold, and forced jokes in the office usually annoy me, so my method is to hang out more with people who have a "natural" sense of humor.
When you look at the scientific research, it's true that laughing releases serotonin, but a sense of humor is also linked to personal development. For me, watching "The Office" UK version actually relaxes me, but my friend enjoys "risqué" jokes. So, just like people manage stress through yoga instead of running, I think humor preferences are personal. What about you?
