I'm curious if cloud gaming, which generally rides the wave of 'nostalgia,' can eventually replace local hardware in the long run. How will it overcome limitations like internet bandwidth and latency? Pricing models are also crucial, with alternatives like 'all-access to all games' being more appealing than 'monthly subscriptions per game.'

Two years ago, I tried Xbox Cloud Gaming through a Samsung budget 4G phone with a Family Pack. After playing Destiny 2 for about five minutes, I felt the inputs were lagging behind my movements, but the cloud itself wasn’t the issue—it was the frame drops. Honestly, I lost 30 seconds due to a frame drop and ended the session. But honestly, the experience changed my perspective: if I had a 5G Wi-Fi connection, it might have been a different story!

In my personal experience, cloud gaming either works well in areas with fiber optic connections (100+ Mbps) and nearby servers, or it’s not used at all. The most realistic solution is for providers to invest in more efficient CDNs and "hybrid" subscription options (mid-range games for €20/month + occasional rentals of AAA titles). That way, you balance costs without relying solely on the cloud.
