Hey everyone, as someone setting up a gaming PC at home for the first time, what’s your usual approach? Do you start with cable management, begin with the motherboard installation, or is there another strategy you swear by? What’s your go-to method and any tips you’d recommend? I might be missing something obvious, but I’m eager to learn!
What do you think is the best method for PC assembly?

Based on my experience, the best approach for a first PC build is to “start clean and organized.” I liken it to setting up DJ gear—while the system might run fine without tidy cables, proper cable management is essential for peace of mind and airflow over the long term. Before you even begin mounting the motherboard, it makes sense to adjust the case’s rear panel, install the power supply, and set up the basic cable‑management framework. My usual order is: install the PSU → adjust the case’s rear panel → mount the motherboard onto the standoffs → install RAM and GPU → carefully route the cables. If you leave the cables for later, you’ll end up in a worse situation than having to tie everything up or get a manicure.
