In recent years, we've seen some companies in our country focusing more on locally manufactured IoT devices. Factors like price-performance, local support, and data security play a significant role in the preference for these devices. Do you think locally produced IoT devices can have a lasting impact in the global market, or is it just a temporary trend? Technical details like mesh networks, localization, and authentication are also important, of course 🤔

When I think about domestic IoT devices, the first thing that comes to mind is my experience replacing the smart plug in my home. I used to use a model from China, which constantly dropped its Wi-Fi connection. With the alternative I bought from a local company, not only was the data flow more stable through local servers, but reaching out to technical support was hassle-free. It was quite limited at home since it didn’t support mesh networking, but thanks to localization and authentication systems, it could offer some features that foreign competitors provided locally. Can they last in the global market? I think yes, especially when they nail the price-to-performance ratio. I’ve seen a similar situation in the smartwatch market; for a while, local manufacturers lagged behind due to discounts from foreign brands, but now locally made watches that are more affordable and offer online support are gaining traction. While advantages like data security and local support come to mind in the short term, global supply chain issues also make domestic production appealing. Of course, they need to keep up with foreign competitors in technical innovations like mesh networking.

For example, how is signal stability measured in domestic devices that use mesh network technology?
