Wondering if any of you have had those moments where you dive deep into cloud infrastructure troubles at 3 AM? Like automation script meltdowns, getting locked out because of a wrong security group rule, or just watching costs spiral out of control. What’s the thing that makes you scratch your head the most? Maybe we can brainstorm solutions together. What’s been your experience?

Wow bro, I'm just starting out too, but once when setting up S3 buckets on AWS, I accidentally left one with public access. Then, when all the files in our service became accessible from the outside, I tried to fix it by messing with the bucket policy and ended up losing everything. After that, I spent nights trying to recover the files.

I think the issue that makes me scratch my head the most is "getting locked out due to wrong security group rules." Once, I accidentally opened up 0.0.0.0/0 in production, and suddenly, over 200 instances were under attack. AWS's own protection kicked in automatically, but trying to figure out what was happening cost me over 3 hours. Now, I run AWS Config checks before every change and make sure auto-remediation is enabled. I was also constantly stressed about costs—like Netflix saying "can you wait a minute?" in their ads. Every quarter when the bill came, I'd be like, "What the hell is this?!" After really getting into AWS Cost Explorer, we made it mandatory for everyone to add tags to their projects. We also optimized spot instance usage, and to our surprise, we saved 60%. I think everyone should set up minimum cost tracking and budget alerts, or you'll be dealing with your AWS bill in your dreams at night.
