In your opinion, which of the "must-have" technologies released in the last decade have unnecessarily made their way into our lives? I'm talking about always-charging smart devices, new connection interfaces that become "mandatory" every year, or smart home systems that constantly need updating... I think this trend has been a bit overhyped, bro. What do you think? Are these things truly necessary, or is the market just inventing them?
What technologies do we really not need?

Last year, when we were changing the electricity service in my building, we got a lot of hassle from the neighbor because the smart meter was apparently mandatory. The electricians kept saying, “Everyone’s doing it now, you have to too,” so we had to go along with it. In the first month we ran into a small glitch in the system and ended up dealing with the company, and after that I’ve been constantly checking the bill details on the app. Meanwhile, my family already knew exactly how much we’d owe each month, but now we get a “billing process started” notification on the fifth of the month. In my opinion, this whole thing is pretty forced—there really isn’t any need for it.
