I upgraded my sports car with a carbon fiber spoiler and immediately noticed the weight savings, but after a small scratch, the repair and maintenance costs were extremely high. That’s why, while I find the performance gains attractive, for regular street use the effort still outweighs the benefits compared to aluminum or steel frames. For everyday driving, I’d stick with proven metal designs.
