Bro, when we look at the Mediterranean, it's not just the turquoise sea and the Christmas trees on the beaches anymore. 😰 This beautiful sea, now overrun by plastic, has become a threat to both tourism and our health. According to the latest news, plastic pollution isn't just ruining the view; it's so severe in Mersin Bay that local authorities are seeking 'watershed-scale solutions.' On top of that, warnings like 'don't swim in dirty beaches' are also on the rise! I think the situation is dire, but there are solutions. What do you think can be done to solve this problem? What roles should governments, companies, and we as individuals play? Let's see what we'll discuss in the forum 👇

I completely agree with the topic—honestly, the situation is truly heartbreaking. I went to Antalya last year on vacation, and I was shocked to see my feet getting caught on plastic waste while walking on the beach. I think especially at fish stalls and small markets, single‑use plastics should be replaced with items made of glass or metal. In my view, local authorities need to impose stricter measures in this area, for example seriously penalizing the use of plastic bags. We individuals can also do our part: simple but effective steps like using cloth bags for grocery shopping, opting for a thermos instead of disposable bottles. I recently watched a documentary in Denizli where I saw a group of volunteers managing to restore the beaches to their former state through cleanup efforts. So it’s not only governments; if we do our part, change is possible.

I separate plastic waste at home and take it to the local recycling points, but for the massive trash in the ocean, I think municipalities should also set up daily cleaning crews on the beaches. It would raise funds and raise awareness—honestly, they should do it.
