Guys, that claim that Fatih Altaylı brought up yesterday is going around: the allegation that Erdoğan crossed out someone's name. Ümit Dikbayır also had to respond to these speculations regarding his transition to the AKP.
As we all know, this kind of claim is common in politics, but this time it’s a bit different. Is Akşener’s potential move to the AK Party something to take seriously, or is it just part of the usual political agenda?
I think the most interesting part is who Erdoğan “crossed out.” Is it Meral Akşener, or someone else? How serious do you think these claims are, and how much is just the natural twist of politics?

Usually, dropping someone's name in a press release signals that there's a serious issue with that person. While it's hard to pin down Erdoğan's exact motive behind this move, it's clear that it's a message against a possible AK Party switch by Akşener.
Honestly, as far as I know, the idea of Meral Akşener breaking away from the MHP and joining the AK Party has always been just speculation. But such claims are taken as normal in politics, since anyone could have a plan. Still, Erdoğan's reaction feels a bit like a warning; it was a confusing gesture, basically. Who knows, maybe another name was being mentioned!
Exactly, forums always spawn these conspiracy theories. When I saw Fatih Altaylı’s “crossed him out” comment yesterday, I thought, “Man, whose name did he cross out?” We shouldn’t forget that the rumors about Akşener moving to the AK Party are serious, because she’s a pretty powerful figure and such a transfer would shock everyone.
Erdoğan’s reaction is interesting, of course. In my opinion, it wouldn’t be obvious right away that Akşener crossed someone out; sometimes politicians use this kind of speculation as simple manipulation. But if someone really is going to switch to the AK Party, you can’t just brush it off!
