Dude, I'm first trying to get the tire pressure to the ideal level because it both shortens the braking distance and reduces fuel consumption 😅. Weight distribution is important too, but I'm still losing myself dealing with the pressure 😂

On the front-wheel-drive GTI I modified last year, I initially set the tire pressure to the manufacturer’s recommended values (2.5 bar front, 2.3 bar rear), but I still felt the front end felt a bit heavy during high-speed cornering and braking. So, I installed an adjustable panel in the trunk to shift weight from the rear seats to the middle of the trunk, adjusting the front-to-rear weight ratio from 55:45 to roughly 50:50. With the same tire pressure, the steering response became noticeably more responsive, braking distance shortened by about 10%, and fuel consumption dropped by 0.5 L/100km. This shows that, while maintaining proper tire pressure, a well-balanced weight distribution has a greater impact on improving grip and braking performance, especially for front-wheel-drive cars. However, if tire pressure deviates too much (e.g., front tires at 1.8 bar), even perfect weight balance can cause excessive tire sidewall flex, leading to a sharp drop in grip and significantly longer braking distances. My conclusion is: first, ensure tire pressure stays within the recommended range, then fine-tune weight distribution to further optimize handling and fuel efficiency. Only by combining both can the vehicle maintain peak performance across all driving conditions.
