Guys, did you hear about an F-16 training jet crashing in Yalova? The pilot was lucky to eject, but it got me thinking—how common are these kinds of accidents, and are the safety measures during training flights sufficient? Do you think these incidents call for stricter oversight and procedures in aviation training? Would love to hear your thoughts 😊

The real issue is exactly that, buddy—we always underestimate the risks in training flights, honestly. For example, when I'm tinkering with my Arduino I always tell my students, “What happens if you feed a circuit 12 V instead of 5 V? It blows up!” The same logic applies to aviation; training flights are treated like simulations, but out there a human life is on the line. Of course it’s reassuring that the pilot survived, but we also need to question how much “agility” is really involved. In a similar case, the U.S. lost a T‑45 Goshawk trainer, and it was due to a simple technical fault. After that, they tightened the procedures there as well. So these kinds of accidents always stem from the same causes: maintenance error, human factor, and inadequate simulation. In Turkey, should the Air Force put more money into simulations, or should it limit flight hours?
