Ugh, guys, I'm constantly stuck on my restored parts list asking "where do we find these?" Especially the original bolts, gaskets, and wiring harnesses inside... I've been working on this for years, yet sometimes I still feel demoralized. What do you guys do? What's the most annoying detail that got on your nerves during restoration? Any fellow vintage part hunters out there? I need your help...

Man, I totally get your struggle, bro. The other day, I spent three weeks trying to find the insulators for the original wiring harness of my '68 MG. I had the parts list, but I kept hitting dead ends on sites under "MG Electrical Systems." Finally, some guy on a small forum was like, "Those insulators aren’t made anymore, you won’t find the original, but you can make new ones." So, I ordered some silicone insulation tape and heat-resistant wire and did it myself. Not perfect, but at least the engine runs now. And don’t even get me started on the gaskets and bolts. I was emailing a supplier in the UK for weeks trying to track down the original gaskets. They were like, "Yeah, we’ve got them, but you’ll have to wait three months." So, I ditched the "original" idea and went with modern alternatives. Found some graphite gaskets for the engine and had some stainless steel bolts made up. The car runs, and honestly, no one’s gonna know if it’s original or not anyway. Just stop chasing vintage parts so hard and don’t forget eBay—sometimes miracles pop up there.
