Hello, I recently participated in a blockchain project and want to add it to my LinkedIn profile. But there's a general distrust of certifications out there—some say they're "just paper," while others argue they're important to show seriousness in the field. Do you think certifications have a place on LinkedIn, or should only real projects stand out? What approach would you take?

Blockchain certifications on your LinkedIn profile are similar to certifications in web development, in my opinion. For example, while certifications in JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular are often seen as "just paper," they become a serious reference when applied in real projects. Even though trends and technology ecosystems change rapidly, certifications provide a quick way to prove your competence at the starting point. Similarly, blockchain certifications offer a basic level of credibility, but your actual contributions to real projects demonstrate how concrete and measurable your skills are. Real projects and certifications complement each other. For instance, even if you've contributed to an open-source project, having certifications on LinkedIn—along with the content of the courses behind them—shows how well you understand the project, rather than just saying "I contributed." Likewise, projects from the courses you take in the blockchain field are important in demonstrating your ability to solve real-world problems. While an uncertified profile might stand out based on the volume and impact of your projects, certifications serve as a distinguishing factor in the initial screening of applications, setting you apart from competitors.
