Hello, I'm an admin in a newly formed group. How should I handle spam, inappropriate content, and new member behavior? For example, how should I set the rules and enforce warnings? What do you all pay attention to? I'd appreciate your help.
How should one approach group management in Telegram?

Oh, so now I'm also a "group therapist" 😅 Yesterday I joined my first support chat with a question like "Where's the REPLY button?", and now I'm moderating groups! 🙈
First things first – write simple rules in a pinned message and add a banner that says "If you broke the rules – read them!" So people don’t think you don’t have any 😤 Bonus: in the first couple of days, everyone will break them, but at least you’ll have something to refer to later!
My friend bans people for "spam" and even sends them a DM saying: "Dear, you’ve sent 3 messages in a minute, maybe slow down a bit?" 😂 Meanwhile, I sit there at night clicking "delete" like a robot! At least enable automatic filters for swearing, or you’ll die of boredom!
I also struggled with similar issues while managing a Web3 project's Discord/Telegram group in Berlin. For spam, the most effective solution was enabling Telegram's built-in spam protection, which catches links and bots causing automated issues—especially as we started growing. For new members, instead of just pasting the rules at entry and asking, "Do you accept the rules?" sending an onboarding message within the first 24 hours worked better. When someone shared inappropriate content, I avoided public warnings and instead sent a direct DM, followed by a ban on the second offense. For the second violation, I didn’t immediately ban them but encouraged them to leave voluntarily to keep the group’s vibe intact—while still leaving the door open for a cautious return later.
