I've been loyal to OpenVPN for years. It's secure and easy to set up on almost any system. It provides solid protection against external attacks and its speed isn't bad, especially in UDP mode. But with WireGuard's arrival, I've started to reconsider things—heard it's lightning fast.
I'm seriously considering switching to WireGuard, especially for mobile use. IKEv2 is also fast, but as I've experienced myself, it gets blocked in some countries. In short, I'll always love OpenVPN, but I'm going to try WireGuard soon—I'm really curious about it.
