Which would you invest in to extend your home Wi-Fi coverage: a single powerful router or a mesh system? Could you also share your reasoning? For example, what factors come into play—cost, ease of setup, or performance?

I'd recommend mesh systems because they provide more consistent coverage in larger homes. By the way, how many square meters is your house?
I would definitely prefer a mesh system if the budget allows—especially for larger apartments or multi-story homes. In our old house with thick walls, the single router was a disaster: great reception in the living room, but only a sad one bar in the kids' room two floors up. The mesh system (I personally use TP-Link Deco) fixed that completely. The nodes sync intelligently, and I barely notice when I move from the living room to the bedroom.
Sure, a single high-end router is cheaper and easier to set up—but for stable, whole-home coverage, mesh is worth it. The extra cost paid off quickly for us because the kids stopped complaining about Wi-Fi issues. And if you need to add another node later? Perfect. Router upgrades, on the other hand, are always a hassle and a money pit.
