I usually combine options 2 and 3; I create playlists based on my interests to set a framework, but I don’t completely ignore the algorithm’s flow. It’s like making a themed playlist on Spotify and then adding YouTube’s recommended discoveries—you get to control it while still having that surprise factor. I think sticking to just one channel reduces content variety, and sometimes the algorithm can just keep suggesting the same type of videos over and over. So to keep things balanced, I let the recommendations flow a couple of times a week and fill the rest with my own playlists. That way, I discover new things while minimizing wasted time.
