Last month, the handyman who came to fix my neighbor’s plumbing asked for 2,000 TL—seriously, I was so fed up I almost started crying. I replied, “Dude, I make 120,000 TL a year as a doctor, why is your profession considered so valuable?” I was just kidding, but the guy totally misread it and the story spread to the whole building 😅.
In the end, the guy said, “You have no right to mock my profession; I could save your life if you needed it!” and walked away, and I felt really guilty. I don’t think we need to make comparisons, man—everyone’s work has its own worth in its own field.
