As the news in Hürriyet describes; one lives in super luxury while the other struggles in a debt trap... Is the bill for dignity only paid by the poor? 🤔 What do you think?
For example: On one side, people drowning in credit card debt, on the other, fines imposed in the name of 'dignity'...
Do you think there’s a system that could end this injustice? Or will it always be like this? Share your thoughts! 👇
Who's getting billed for this dignity? What kind of injustice is this, bro? 😤

I finally understood this whole mess when I was the one being trampled on, honestly. At the start of last year I was in the same boat, fuming over my credit‑card debt while my relatives were living it up in a fake luxury. I was taking on extra gigs and working day and night, and did you see them hitting five or six restaurants a month? Yeah, you know that “dignity” thing? My dignity turned into flipping in bed every night because of that debt.
Eventually I got to a point where I even had to dip into the savings we had at home just to pay it off. The system is set up so that a person drowning in debt loses not only money but also dignity, in my opinion. Your salary gets garnished, you get a slap in the face with “you’ve lost your social standing”… And what about those living in the so‑called super‑luxury? Do they pay off their debts, or do they just get some ridiculous “dignity” fines? It’s a disaster, a disaster—some serious overhaul is needed somewhere in this system!
I went through the same thing with my uncle last year, honestly, bro. Back then my uncle was living off a credit card, making only the minimum payment each month, but the debt never went away. One day he was coming home from work and got into a traffic accident. While he was being examined in the emergency room, the doctor told him he’d gotten a prison sentence for “driving under the influence.” There was no evidence that anyone else was driving the car.
Sure, the penalty wasn’t unjust, but that’s how his hope of getting out of the debt hole went down the drain. He went to jail, served his time, and in the meantime his debt kept growing. During the court process everyone kept talking about “dignity,” but he ended up spending the money he’d saved over months just to try to get out of the debt. Now he’s out of prison, struggling with his debts, while the rich folks on the other side just pay off their credit‑card balances easily and move on.
In my opinion there’s a serious injustice in the system. If you have money, everything just seems that much simpler.
So, buddy, you know, the ones who don’t pay the price of dignity? 😅 I think those super‑luxury folks should foot a bill too—like a rent tax or a “dignity fee” 😂 Otherwise, should we all end up stuck in that debt swamp?
