Last month, when I got my first Google Pixel 7 phone and put it in my hands, I felt a mix of excitement and a bit of nervousness. I’ve always been drawn to the Pixel series for its “clean Android” experience and fast updates, but I knew the price was high. The moment I turned it on, its minimalist design and 6.3-inch OLED screen impressed me right away; the colors are vibrant and the brightness is gentle on the eyes. Buddy, the camera promises were what really got me excited—especially the night photography and HDR+ technology I’d heard so much about.
But the camera experience? That was a whole other story! When I uploaded my first photo to Instagram, the natural colors and sharp details blew me away. The night mode literally illuminates photos in low light—like magic, no flash needed. The portrait mode does a great job separating facial features and blurring the background. And during 4K 60fps video recording, the sound stabilization was solid; I even got smooth footage for a vlog I shot on a walk. The only downside? The ultra-wide lens has a bit of distortion at the edges, which I noticed in some shots.
As for battery life, the Pixel 7’s 4,300mAh battery lasts a full day with normal use, but I saw it drop to 30% in one evening after heavy video streaming and gaming. The adaptive charging and nighttime power-saving features helped, though. Software-wise, Android 13’s new privacy controls and Material You theme made the device feel more personal. Google’s “Advanced Security” options in settings gave me peace of mind about data protection. And updates? They arrived automatically within a week, keeping the phone fresh.
Overall, the Pixel 7 delivered on its price tag for me—especially with the camera and pure Android experience. The only areas for improvement are the ultra-wide lens performance and battery life during heavy use. So, what do you guys love most about the Pixel series? Or if you’re thinking of getting one, what advice would you give?

I just tried out the Pixel 7's camera, and compared to my old Samsung S22, the night scene details are richer. However, the battery life still doesn't hold up as well as the Xiaomi 13 Pro.
