Lately, there have been increasing reports that camera manufacturers are increasingly relying on AI-powered image processing—not just in post-processing, but already during capture. AI is becoming especially crucial in areas like noise reduction, color optimization, and HDR dynamics. But what do you think? Does this technology really deliver better results, or does it come at the cost of a natural look? I'm curious about your experiences with these features—or do you see them more critically?

AI integration in smartphone photography reminds me of the days when Samsung wowed flagship mobile users with its "Scene Optimizer" technology. Back then, the argument was similar: AI detected scenes like sunsets, food shots, or pets and automatically adjusted exposure, contrast, and colors. The difference today is that the algorithms don’t just recognize predefined scenes—they learn and adapt in real time during capture, almost like a digital assistant predicting the subject. Compared to classic RAW shots, which require manual post-processing, AI-optimized instant processing offers a clear advantage for the average user: no patience needed for manual tweaks, but also less control over the final result. Similar to Google’s Pixel series, where the HDR algorithm delivers stunning dynamic range but draws criticism from purists for making images look too "polished." The natural look? It doesn’t disappear entirely, but it’s sacrificed for greater depth and contrast—akin to Lightroom presets, just without the manual effort.
