Apple making its own ASICs mandatory is actually a logical move. I've seen how the Neural Engine in iPhones optimizes Photoshop-like apps—like when cropping a photo in Lightroom, it uses 30% less power than a standard CPU while delivering the same performance. Back then, the battery would drain 20% faster during such tasks, but now it drains that much in half the time. But when it comes to flexibility, there can be some issues. For example, I used to modify an Android app using jailbreak tools to tweak certain files, which makes the system a bit closed off for non-developers. In the long run, ASICs tend to last longer than standard APs—at least for now, it seems Apple has a strong grip on hardware, and if this trend spreads to Android, it could provide serious advantages, especially in AI-focused tasks.
