Hey everyone, I recently switched from an Android phone to iOS, and getting used to the interface and workflow has been a bit challenging. As someone new to iOS, what should I pay attention to? For example, how do I manage apps? What are the best practices for notifications? Or which system settings should I focus on? What’s the best way to discover useful features? Thanks!

Man, it's only been two weeks since I switched to iPhone, honestly, I still feel like an agency that can't figure out where to plug the cable 📱😅 I tapped the screen ten times just to get a screen recording, and I bragged to my friends that I “asked the special assistant” for that discovery 😂 Guess the best thing is to be a bit patient, so I don’t end up looking like those guys wandering around with a busted iPhone 8!

When I switched to iPhone I went through a similar adaptation process, honestly. The first thing that hit me was how simple and intuitive iOS is designed, but you kept thinking “how did they pull that off?” every time you touched something. In the end I realized the key is to trust Apple’s “simplicity” philosophy and make use of the conveniences the system provides. For example, when managing apps—iOS doesn’t really have a classic “Menu → Show all apps” option, but the easiest way is to grab them quickly from the dock at the bottom of the screen. I initially stuffed apps into nested folders, but later I figured out that you should only put the ones you need on the first home screen and send the rest to the second page—it became a lot smoother. I also wrestled with notifications, to be honest. The first few days every app was sending alerts, which was stressful. Then I noticed that in Settings → Notifications you can fully customize which apps send which types of alerts. For instance, keep notifications on only for the important stuff (SMS, calls, etc.) and disable the rest. I also learned to clear the Notification Center regularly, otherwise you end up buried under pages of alerts. As for system settings, use the search bar in Settings all the time to find the things you use most quickly. You can type “Wi‑Fi,” “Bluetooth,” “Airplane Mode,” etc., and jump straight to them. The most useful tip is to enable Assistive Mode: Settings → Accessibility → Assistive Mode. That way you get short explanations for anything you tap, and since I turned it on I’ve understood how logical the interface really is.
