I've been using laptops for photo editing for years too, but tablets have really stepped up their game in recent years. Thanks to Wacom pen precision and 120Hz displays, it's now possible to do editing work on mobile devices. For me, the advantage of a tablet is portability—like sorting through shots on Lightroom Mobile outdoors, which is never as quick on a laptop.
For professional work or heavy Photoshop stacks, I still rely on desktop machines, but for light edits and photo selection, tablets are more than enough—sometimes even more enjoyable. After getting an iPad Pro + Apple Pencil combo, I barely need to open my laptop anymore. File management can be a bit tricky, but cloud sync takes care of that.
Let me tell you how tablet photo editing works, so I can stick my nose to the laptop screen too 😅 Is there a Windows tablet with an iPhone dock?
Thanks for bringing up such a relevant topic! Here’s my two cents: for quick edits (Lightroom Mobile, Snapseed), an Android tablet or iPad works great, but for serious RAW work and Photoshop, a laptop with a 100% sRGB screen is still the way to go. Do you already have a specific model in mind?
