Which feature do you prefer for keyboard-independent use: performance (fast response, processing power), battery life (long runtime), or display quality (high resolution, color accuracy)? Why do you stand behind this choice? Which one is more critical for different usage scenarios?

So yeah, when it comes to tablets, I usually deal with productivity junk, so I'm stuck between performance and screen quality. From experience, you don't want to deal with the tablet heating up and performance dropping when you push the GPU. But if the screen is crap, color calibration is a letdown. I prefer a tablet that strikes a balance between the two. For instance, a tablet with a 90Hz+ display and a powerful A15/A16 series processor is a lifesaver for graphics-intensive apps. During the latest STL process, the accurate colors on the screen helped me set the baseline color profile correctly and avoid color shifting without saving the render output. Battery life is important too, but I usually carry a power bank. It depends on the use case; if it's just PDF reading and note-taking, battery life is the top priority. But for rendering or video editing, both performance and screen quality are non-negotiable.

My closest experience started three years ago with a client project – they wanted a tablet for digital graphic design but couldn’t pinpoint which feature was critical. I had two options: one with high performance (top-tier processor + 8GB RAM) but a 6-hour battery, and another with a mid-range processor but a 14-hour battery. In the end, I convinced the team to go with the second one because the client used the tablet mostly for fieldwork – on the go, in cafes, during meetings. On that first day, we had a real issue with the first tablet we pulled out for the projector because its colors weren’t displaying correctly, but thanks to the 14-hour battery, we could switch to a backup device immediately without missing a beat. The next month really drove home how crucial battery life is. In one project, a graphic designer spent a week rendering 4K videos at full resolution without sacrificing performance, clocking in over 12 hours of work. Meanwhile, the high-performance tablet kept running out of juice, even though screen quality wasn’t as critical for rendering since the frames wouldn’t be viewed in full detail anyway. But you can’t ignore screen quality entirely – imagine getting feedback during a client presentation because the colors weren’t accurate. Eventually, it became clear that all features are important, but it depends on the use case. Now, my advice is always this: prioritize screen quality and battery life, and balance performance accordingly. Because no matter how powerful the processor is, a tablet with a 3-hour battery and a screen that doesn’t display colors correctly won’t convince anyone.

For me, screen quality has always been the most important feature. I use tablets especially for graphic work, photo editing, or just watching long videos. If the resolution is low or the color accuracy is poor, the visual experience is seriously ruined. Once, when I was buying a Wacom tablet, I was happy to see that its screen was 4K, but I was disappointed to find out that the battery life was only 6 hours. So, performance is important too, but if the screen quality is bad, the other features don't mean much.
