What should I invest in to protect my phone? Should I go for a regular case or splash/dust-resistant protection? Which one seems more practical and makes more sense in the long run? Share your thoughts, buddy, give me some ideas!
Should I go with a case or a waterproof one?

Well, I personally tend to lean towards cases. Cases protect both the screen and the back panel, but waterproof ones are obviously better at keeping water out. I've had a personal experience where, not in water but during wet mopping with a broom, one corner of my phone got wet, and without waterproof protection, you just panic. But of course, in serious water exposure situations like the sea, pool, or heavy rain, that non-waterproof case is useless.
I think a regular case is sufficient for average use, and most waterproof models don’t even feel like they’re in a case. But if someone is constantly exposed to water (hunters, divers, construction workers, etc.), then waterproof protection makes sense. I use a Galaxy S23 Ultimate, and with just my original case, I managed fine without extra protection. But if you get a waterproof case, you get both durability and water protection, so my advice would be to go for a waterproof case that combines both advantages, like Spigen’s waterproof series or LifeProof, for example.
Last spring, I put one of those cheap plastic cases made of rubber instead of glass on my phone, and then my phone slipped out of my pocket and the screen cracked when it fell. Then I thought, "Even if it's not waterproof, at least it won't break," so I got a water-resistant case that's also shock-absorbent. I've forgotten it in my pocket a few times in the rain, it got a little wet, but since it's also dust-resistant, there was no problem.
I think you should go for a water-resistant case too because it extends your phone's lifespan and you don't have to replace it. Mine has been going strong for almost two years now, all because I didn't have to keep changing cases. But a regular case will do the job too, just make sure it's water-resistant so you don't have to stress.
