When buying cases and accessories, is material quality or design aesthetics more of a priority?

When choosing a case for a phone, tablet, or laptop, we often face two main criteria: protection and aesthetics. There are many material options, from silicone to leather and polycarbonate to Kevlar, each with different durability and feel. On the other hand, design, color, and customization options reflect the device's style. So, which factor do you think is more critical? Should eco-friendly materials be preferred, or is maximum protection the top priority? In short, what balance do you strike, and what are your experiences? I look forward to your opinions.

Dude, the first thing that comes to my mind is material quality. Honestly, two months ago when I put a silicone case on my iPhone 13 Pro, I could still feel the impact from a drop; so when I wanted full protection, I switched to a polycarbonate model. At the moment of impact, the device's surface barely got scratched. Aesthetics are a plus, sure, but I usually prioritize the feeling of "this case won't wear out on me" over color and texture. I think if you're aiming for an eco-friendly choice, trying models made from biodegradable TPU or recycled plastic makes sense. Recently, a friend recommended a bamboo-encased leather case—it looks sleek and uses a sustainable material. So, in short, protection should come first, but the design has to make you happy too; otherwise, using a "protective but ugly" case would be a waste of my energy.
