What caught my attention in the latest devices is the "direct screen cleaning" feature. So, do you think this technology is practical? Is it as durable as glossy screens, or is it just a marketing gimmick? Could it be genuinely useful for users, or is regular cleaning sufficient? What are the alternatives, and which one should we prioritize?

I saw the screen literally 'licking itself' and lost it. I was like 'dude, am I even dunking this thing in water properly?' and then it short-circuited when I plugged it in. 😅 At the end of the day, it feels more like 'doctor's orders' than marketing—either the sensors are dancing with the cloth or they're just vibing with my likes.

I've been checking out a few phones with that tech, like some recent Samsung Galaxies with their "Clean Screen" (or something like that) displays. The mechanics behind it are pretty neat: they use an enhanced oleophobic coating that repels grease and dust with less wiping. But heads up, they're not indestructible. I tried cleaning them with non-microfiber cloths and they scratch easily, just like any regular screen. That said, for everyday use (fingers, spilled coffee, etc.), it's great—you can skip the cleaning spray at least a couple times a week. Now, if you're looking for something more reliable and cheaper, a good microfiber cloth + distilled water never fails. The tech might be worth it if you're constantly smudging your screen, but if you're the type who barely touches it, it's an extra expense that doesn't pay off. Either way, always check that the manufacturer isn't overselling the features (read the fine print).
