As opposed to stock Android, what layers are added on top of clean Android, and what do they consist of? How much do they consume basic system resources? How do these layers affect performance?
What's the difference between OxygenOS and stock Android?

Just got to test OxygenOS after my friend picked up a OnePlus 11 a few months ago. At first glance, it looked a lot like stock Android, but I noticed the "Oxygen" background service running constantly. There’s an extra layer for filtering notifications, and some default apps are tweaked. According to BM, these layers add about 10-15% overhead to system performance—I only saw a slight battery drain when Chrome was open all the time.
For purists who love pure stock Android, this might seem excessive, but once you start using OnePlus’s features (like Gaming Mode or AirTriggers), the extra layers don’t really drag things down. I wouldn’t say it’s slower than clean Android, but it does consume a bit more resources.
