Dude, did you see that news in Hürriyet yesterday where some guy's phone exploded while it was charging? 😳 Yeah, can phones actually explode even when they're plugged in? 🤔 According to the news, is it user error, poor device quality, or the charger to blame? We've dealt with a lot of voltage/current issues while messing with custom ROMs and kernels, so what do you guys think? I think we need to look at this from both the user's and manufacturer's perspectives. Cheap/non-original power adapters, bad Lithium batteries, and faulty charging algorithms don't help. But do you guys leave your phones charging overnight? If you do, what precautions do you take?

In our Arduino classes we constantly warn students: never leave lithium batteries on charge for a long time! 🔌 Likewise, leaving a phone charging all night basically invites the battery to “swell.” I can compare the explosion incident to a voltage‑regulator failure—my project for 11th‑graders blew up the Arduino’s voltage regulator because of a faulty current limit in the charging module. It got so hot it started smoking, and the students leapt up shouting, “Professor, what happened!” In the end, both cheap chargers and the manufacturer’s charging algorithm are critical. I use an automatic timer that stops at 80 % when my phone charges overnight; what do you use?
