Let's say you're using an iPhone 13. Its standard battery is 3240mAh. You need 2-3 times more capacity for a full charge because power banks don't work at 100% efficiency. So in practice, a 10000mAh power bank can charge your phone a maximum of 2.5-3 times. With a 20000mAh one, that number goes up to 5-6 times.
Mine is a Xiaomi 13T Pro with a 5000mAh battery. Here, a 10000mAh power bank can give me 2-3 full charges, while a 20000mAh one can give 8-10. But it needs to fit in my pocket. So I usually prefer models in the 15000mAh range, like the Anker PowerCore 15000 PD Redux. It gives me 2-3 full charges and fits comfortably in my pocket. I've balanced portability and usage time. To me, it makes more sense to carry a slightly larger one and charge it every few days rather than constantly carrying small ones in my pocket.
