While standard 5V works with almost all devices, higher voltages (9V, 12V) improve efficiency for power-hungry devices like laptops or tablets. For example, charging a laptop at 12V generates much less heat and shortens charging time compared to 5V. In my experience, using a 30W powerbank with a USB-C laptop versus 18W models, I noticed less heat and more stable charging. The voltage difference between 18W and 30W powerbanks directly impacts power delivery. 18W models typically support only combinations like 5V/3A or 9V/2A, while 30W and above (e.g., 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/2.5A) offer much broader device compatibility.
