What features are actually important in a mid-range phone that supports 5G? How do I balance battery life, display quality, and performance? As the number of apps I use increases, which parameters should I prioritize? What are your experiences regarding 5G's impact on battery consumption?

When choosing a mid-range 5G phone, the first thing to check is whether the 5G module actually impacts real-world usage. Technically, whether it supports 5G or not, higher frequency bands lead to weaker signals and reduced battery life—that’s a fact. We saw this earlier when transitioning from 4G to LTE-A; stability matters just as much as speed. If you're mostly in urban areas with solid 5G coverage, battery drain might increase by 10-15%, but in practice, you won’t notice a drastic difference. Similarly, when comparing the older Snapdragon 6xx series (previously considered mid-high end) to the newer 7xx series, I found the 7xx to be more efficient despite the 5G module—battery life remained nearly identical. As app usage grows, RAM and storage speed become critical. For example, a phone with 8-12GB RAM and UFS 2.2 storage performs significantly better than older models with 6GB RAM and eMMC 5.1. While this was an issue with Android Go devices in the past, improvements are now evident even in mid-range phones. Comparing 5G adoption to battery life, my experience shows the 5G module increases power consumption mainly during demanding tasks like gaming or video streaming. For casual use (social media, reading news, light gaming), the difference isn’t dramatic. So, the most important factors depend on your usage intensity—prioritize battery and processor efficiency for heavy use, while screen quality and connection stability matter more for light use.
