Can you provide a general evaluation of the performance and thermal management of the Helio G series processors? Specifically, what are your experiences with MediaTek's G series in gaming and multitasking-focused usage? What advantages and disadvantages stand out in terms of efficiency and heating?

I've used a couple of phones with the Helio G series (specifically the G95 and G96), and they're solid budget-friendly options. For gaming, they handle PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty at medium-high settings without breaking a sweat, but don't expect flagship-level smoothness—you might see some frame drops if you push the graphics too high. Multitasking is decent for the price; I could run WhatsApp, a browser with 10 tabs, and Spotify without major lag. People always criticized the G95 for overheating, but I didn’t find it that bad. Sure, if you run ultra settings in demanding games like Genshin Impact for hours in airplane mode, it’ll get warm, but for normal use (YouTube, social media), it doesn’t stress out. As for thermal management, it’s worth being a bit more careful with models that don’t have VRM cooling. Overall, the Helio G series is a good choice if you're looking for performance that matches its price—but for high-end gaming or heavy apps, you might need to look elsewhere.

Has anyone tried the Helio G99 with any passive cooling or liquid cooling setup? Because that’s a key point many overlook when discussing this chip: the G99 has better thermal management than previous generations, but if the phone has a mediocre heatsink (like the ones often found in budget models), throttling kicks in sooner than expected. Have you noticed a difference in benchmarks after 10-15 minutes of heavy gaming sessions in titles like Genshin Impact or COD Mobile? With the G99 in a phone like the Realme Narzo 60 Pro, for example, performance drops by 20-25% after that time if there isn’t a solid cooling system in place. Any experience with these scenarios?

I also came across the Helio G95 while researching the Redmi Note 10 series last year, and eventually got my hands on it. From my experience, it performs quite well in games (especially PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile); it can maintain a stable 60 FPS and I didn’t experience much frame drop. As for thermal management, the back of the device gets around 40°C, which isn’t too hot to touch, but I noticed the temperature rises a bit during prolonged gaming and multitasking (10+ Chrome tabs, music, and Discord running in the background). In terms of efficiency, if I were to trust benchmark results, it delivers consistent performance around 85-90%, though it can throttle under sustained heavy loads. All in all, I’d say the Helio G95 offers good value-for-money performance for a mid-range device.
