In your opinion, which performs more balanced in the mid-range segment: the Snapdragon 7 series or the MediaTek Dimensity 6/9 series? Especially in the triangle of heating, battery life, and gaming performance, which one appeals to you more? Even if they are in the same price range, how much does software optimization and hardware compatibility affect the overall user experience?

In my opinion, the mid-range segment is indeed divided into two. The last chips I tried from MediaTek’s Dimensity 900 series (920/930) were solid, but not as consistent as the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. The Dimensity ran a bit hotter, especially when gaming, and the battery drained about 10-15% faster because of it. Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 7 series, thanks to Adreno GPU optimization, handled games like *Genshin Impact* much more smoothly with minimal heating. Software optimization directly impacts performance. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 series is often paired with Android One or near-stock software, which keeps the interface fluid. MediaTek chips aren’t bad, but they usually come with OEM customizations that can sometimes mess with ROM stability. My take? If you’re into mobile gaming, go for the Snapdragon 7 series. For everything else, even the Dimensity 9 series is plenty. If the price difference is just 5-10%, I’d stick with Snapdragon without hesitation.
