Lately, I've been looking for something with a guaranteed battery and a high refresh rate. Does the difference in refresh rate, animations, etc., actually make a noticeable difference, or is it just a marketing gimmick? How much of a difference does it make in real-world use? What do you guys look for?
How important is the refresh rate?

High refresh rates (e.g., 90Hz, 120Hz) aren’t just a number—they directly impact the user experience. While developing Android apps, I’ve noticed a significant difference in smoothness between screen refresh rates and animations. Scrolling, transition animations, or games feel much smoother and more responsive at 90Hz or 120Hz compared to 60Hz.
Of course, there’s the trade-off with battery life. On a mid-range phone, running 120Hz constantly can drain the battery faster. When testing apps, I usually stick to the device’s default settings (often 60Hz or 90Hz), but for longer sessions, I switch to 90Hz because the smoother animations are noticeably more comfortable. Ultimately, if your phone supports it and battery life isn’t a major concern, the refresh rate makes a tangible difference in how responsive the device feels at the moment of touch.
