Is it worth investing in a foldable smartphone if it's my first phone? I've heard they're expensive and fragile, but also that they offer a lot of convenience. Are they just a passing trend or do they really enhance the experience? What are their general advantages and disadvantages compared to traditional smartphones?

When I jumped into the foldable world with a Galaxy Z Flip3, I’ll admit I did it more out of curiosity than anything else. I came from a "normal" mid-range phone, and at first, I was blown away (never been more literal) by how small it was when closed or how big it got when opened. The first dozen times I accidentally folded the screen in my pocket, I broke out in a cold sweat, but over time, I got the hang of folding it safely before putting it away.
The convenience is a game-changer: it fits in any pocket without bulging, and the big screen for watching shows or working is amazing. That said, the battery lasts about 30% less than my previous phone, and in winter, you can really tell the screen is more sensitive to drops. After a year and a half, I upgraded to a newer model, but I don’t regret it—it turned out to be a useful investment for my daily use, even if I always have to be careful not to treat it like a regular phone.
