I'm curious, what should I look for in wireless peripherals (keyboards, mice, headphones, etc.) to maximize battery life? How much do battery type, device power consumption, and usage habits affect battery life? What approach do you guys take for this? Looking for practical tips.

I've had pretty good luck comparing the battery life of my Logitech MX Master mouse to cheaper alternatives I've owned in the past. The MX Master lasts a couple of months on a single AA, while those no-name mice burn through the same battery in just a couple of weeks. What really stands out is the hardware efficiency: Logitech uses a more advanced sensor and lower-power circuitry, so the device only wakes up when it detects motion. Add Logitech’s custom firmware that aggressively throttles background scanning, and you’ve got a setup where the main variable is the user’s habits rather than the hardware itself. Cheaper mice don’t have those optimizations, so you’re basically paying a “lazy-engineering tax” every time you swap batteries.
