Is there anyone who has upgraded from Age of Empires II: HD Edition to the Definitive Edition? What improvements have there been in terms of graphics, price-performance, and new content? Has the gameplay quality remained the same as before, or are there really significant differences? Is it difficult for those accustomed to the old version to adapt? In your opinion, which one is more reasonable to choose?

Let's check this out 😄 In the HD Edition, I'm like that old guy who still played on PS1, and now the Definitive Edition is like teleporting me into the future. 🚀 Pros: graphics straight out of a tech museum, stock prices went up, but at least not a glass jar for 3000 rubles. Cons: the interface is so complicated now, it's like I need to work at NASA instead of pushing pasta. 🤯 All in all, if you're like me—a console gamer at heart—the adaptation is like trying to operate an excavator instead of a gamepad. But hey, it's still fun to play! 😎 So grab the DE and be glad old Gates isn’t smirking at this from up there. 😂

I think upgrading to the Definitive Edition makes sense, bro, especially for those used to HD. The graphics have been completely overhauled—details, lighting, character models, everything’s on another level. If HD was good, DE is just as good, if not better. The price isn’t too steep either; if you already bought HD, the upgrade discount has been going on for a while—normally around €40, it drops to €20-25. Gameplay-wise, there aren’t any major changes—same castle system, economic balance, just like in HD. But the new content? Amazing. Four new civilizations (Italians, Indians, Slavs, Malay), new maps, new scenarios—it really freshens up the game. The learning curve isn’t bad either; if you’re switching from HD to DE, you might need a little time to adjust, but it’s quick. For those used to the original Age of Empires, DE has some tweaks—like infantry now using the new settler system for more flexibility, and warriors are a bit smarter. Overall, DE is a step up from HD, especially with its visuals and added content.

Guys, there are definitely people who upgraded AoE II from HD to Definitive Edition, and I did too. The biggest change is the graphics, seriously—the character and building details in HD look a bit rough, but in Definitive they’re way smoother and more realistic. Plus, there’s all the new content: 5 new civilizations, 4 new campaigns, and units that were missing in HD, which really extends the gameplay. We should also talk about price-to-performance. In HD, you’re always catching sales, for example. When the Definitive Edition first came out, the price was a bit high, but now it goes on sale often, and that’s when I bought it. For old players, the adaptation might seem tough, but really it’s just a few new sound effects and menu layouts—the core gameplay quality stays the same. I think going for the Definitive Edition makes more sense; it’s a serious jump in both content and visuals.
