As the game dynamics in Black Desert evolve, players' preferences are shifting. Do legendary quests like PvE-focused adventures and goat butting bring more joy, or are epic duels and castle battles the real thrill? Some grind for hours to improve in PvP, while others prefer grinding money and breezing through story mode in PvE. Which playstyle brings you more enjoyment? Or do you think both should offer their own unique fun?

When I first started playing Black Desert, I was dumb enough to go PK with those red names and got oneshotted so hard I even lost my gear. Later I realized gathering, hunting and achievement quests in PvE suited me way better—at least I wouldn’t get chased around and could still enjoy the scenery while picking herbs.
PvP team fights were always thrilling for me—especially in castles where strategy meets that rush of adrenaline. But in the long run, I couldn’t fully let go of PvE either; rounding up goats for coin while leveling up my skills felt oddly relaxing. Maybe the best of both worlds is mixing them together!
PvP and PvE each offer different joys in Black Desert, but for me, PvP has always stood out. Especially in castle battles or duels, there are those moments where you face a proper opponent and think, "Damn, I lived through that!" Last year, I fell for the third time in Solo Exploration at the Castle of Sand, but on the fourth attempt, I took the opponent down in the final move. That adrenaline? You won’t find it in any PvE quest online.
As for PvE, earning money and completing quests is fun, but sometimes I feel like I’m just "bashing my head against a goat." Even if you love the relief after defeating World Bosses with their massive HP bars, in my opinion, focusing on PvP first and improving your character makes everything far more satisfying. My advice? Maximize your PvP experience first, then dive deep into PvE.
What's the most efficient money-making strategy in PvE? Like, do you make faster progress with the goat butting tasks, or is it more profitable to farm world bosses?
