What makes a game appealing—realistic physics or strategic depth? Let’s discuss which approach tends to be more satisfying, looking at both recent development trends and community reactions. In your opinion, what do players generally prioritize?

I think both physical realism and simulation depth appeal to different groups of players. For example, I played the FIFA series for years and when the latest one came out, I felt the imbalance between realistic physics and legendary in-game reactions. It was more satisfying when every hit made the ball move naturally depending on its spin and the wind's effect instead of floating weirdly in the air after a header. I love the "controlled chaos" feeling that realism brings to the player. On the other hand, in strategy-focused games like Football Manager, players prefer to play with data and long-term planning. Even though these games have improved graphically in recent years, the focus always shifts to tactics, pushing me to dive even deeper. Looking at community reactions, there's no clear answer to this dilemma among players: some appreciate refined simulation, while others enjoy strategy and smooth controls. The main issue shows just how hard it is to perfectly balance both.
