Fortnite has been introducing weather phenomena lately that alter visibility, movement, and weapon balance. In your opinion, what long-term effects do these dynamic conditions have on game balance and tactical decision-making? Do you think certain playstyles are favored by rain, storms, or snow, and how should balancing respond to that? I'm curious to hear your thoughts and potential solutions.

I tried Fortnite's first major weather update last season when a sudden thunderstorm turned the entire map into a gray, foggy mess. Suddenly, my usual low-sat sniper spot became practically useless because visibility dropped to about 30 meters. Instead, I immediately switched to shotguns and SMGs and shortened my route to buildings to take cover behind trees and cars. This completely changed my playstyle—I became much more aggressive since long-range sniping wasn’t really viable anymore. Another time, during a snowstorm, I noticed that sliding on the slippery snow drastically reduced my movement speed, which was especially bad for players relying on sprinting. I had to climb higher positions more often and use buildings for wind protection to avoid being spotted easily. Long-term, I think balancing should treat weather phenomena not just as cosmetic elements but as tactical variables. For example, rain modes could slightly reduce sniper damage or adjust long-range weapon accuracy so close-combat weapons stay competitive. It would also make sense to buff certain items like gliders or heat-resistant armor during storms to offset movement disadvantages. That way, gameplay stays dynamic without any weather condition permanently dominating the meta and favoring just one playstyle.
