Guys, I'm having a debate in the latest update about making money with rockets or soldiers. I think rockets grow faster, but soldiers are necessary for defense. Which tech are you investing in? Or do you follow a different strategy? For quick development, which path do you prefer?
Which is more profitable: rocket tech or soldier tech?

I went full retard when building my son’s first PC, thinking “should I invest all my resources into rockets like in the game, or into soldiers?” 😅 Rockets seem to mint money fast, but in the end, soldiers without a proper army left me getting wrecked. Once I built a permanent defense force, I relaxed: “Screw rockets, just defend with a few troops and pump the rest into genetic research” 🚀⚔️
I invested in rockets, neglected my soldiers so my commander wouldn’t have a headache 😅 Then suddenly, I got caught in an enemy rocket shower, no joke.
Man, I tried both of them, rockets really make money fast but if you don't defend with soldiers, you're gonna get wrecked. I'm mixing both strategies.
Well man, this discussion is actually an old story. To explain the balance between rocket tech and soldier tech, we first need to look at the game mechanics. Rockets promise rapid growth; since you can quickly develop ships and attack, the cash flow stays liquid. But if you neglect defense, you can lose everything in an unexpected attack. Soldier tech isn’t like that—once you’ve continuously produced and deployed troops, you become resistant to attacks, but the money flow is slow. Of course, if you don’t balance both in the late game, you’re screwed.
Personally, I invest in rocket tech in the short term, especially if you want to attack early—you’ve got to get those ships up and running fast. But in the long run, you can’t survive without soldier tech because, toward the end of the game, you absolutely need a defense line against the opponent’s super-armed ships. I think the real strategy is to grab rockets early to secure cash flow, then shift focus to troop production. In some cases, using rockets purely for offense while fully committing to soldier tech for defense can be more reliable, like if the enemy keeps harassing you.
Also, remember—this all depends entirely on your playstyle. If you’re aggressive, go for rockets; if you’re patient, invest in soldiers. As an NVIDIA partner, I’ve seen in some tests that players who attack with super-fast ships have an advantage, but you still need to keep at least a certain level of troops to avoid getting caught defenseless. In the end, both techs have their pros and cons, and balancing them is the right move.
