The newly refreshed large map always lags in the late game—does dual-colored gear still not cut it? Is there a general approach to boosting survival limits, like prefix/suffix priorities, balanced link combinations, or flexible transition gear setups? I’d love to hear some build-agnostic frameworks from you all to avoid common pitfalls.
How can beginners improve their late-game survival skills?

Just recently, I was farming the main map and hit a late-game crash—everything was going smoothly until I suddenly realized my HP pool wasn’t enough right before entering the boss room, nearly ending up as a "nobody." That experience taught me that late-game survival isn’t just about stacking stats; it’s about embedding "flexibility" and "prediction" early on. My first attempt was stuffing all my item slots with max-life and max-mana prefixes, only to get one-shot by a six-suffix boss with no chance to switch back to transitional gear. Only after removing some of those extreme affixes and adding more flexible options like "life recovery on hit" and "reduced skill cooldowns" did my survival rate stabilize.
Since then, I’ve adopted two habits. First, I never lock in any affix permanently—whether it’s "+30% elemental damage" or "+5% max life," as long as I have corresponding defensive or recovery links, I’ll swap out the affix and rethink my approach. Second, I always prepare "active items" ahead of time—like keeping a switchable "teleport" or "metamorphosis" type of gear on hand to forcibly create distance in unfavorable situations. This setup might not look the flashiest early on, but when you hit a wall you can’t brute-force through late-game, it truly saves your life.
