Many guides emphasize that 'to clear the Spiral Abyss, you first need to train a system that can clear stages quickly and defeat enemies fast,' but what exactly does this system train? Is it refresh rate? Or understanding damage penalties?

Don't get stuck overanalyzing the “Abyss mechanics” during the beginner phase—just mastering these three core systems is enough. They aren’t directly tied to refresh rates or damage reduction, but they determine whether you can clear maps and instantly kill enemies. First is **«clear‑monster feel»**, i.e., the lag between pressing a button and the damage actually landing—this is pure execution. Take a pure‑physical main DPS (like a five‑star Raiden Shogun or a seven‑star Scattered Blossom), and practice the tight loop “run → press A → press E/ultimate.” Use Alt + right‑click to cancel animation while moving; you can push the loop to over 4.5 cycles per second, and your clearing speed will far outpace most players. Second is **«positioning + front‑back swapping»**. The Abyss often throws single‑player bosses with strict placement demands (e.g., the “Law of Thunder” on floor 11). Train two backup wind healers and a front‑line thunder DPS, and swap at the precise moment—0.5 seconds before the boss finishes its charge attack. Third is **«elemental reaction chains»**: the damage multiplier for a Frozen + Vaporize combo is (Water base × 2 + Fire base × 1.5) × 2.7. Knowing this lets you turn “instant kills” from a buzzword into reality. A quick note: the first two points are about skill, the last is about numbers, but the Abyss itself doesn’t test FPS. Trying to compensate for poor execution by raising your refresh rate is a band‑aid, not a cure. First lock down your loop speed, positioning awareness, and reaction multipliers; then we can talk about hardware upgrades.
